Original Research Papers

CNB-MAC welcomes original research papers that have not been published before and are not currently under review by another conference or journal. We are currently working with the Journal of Computational Biology to publish a special issue of accepted papers.

Format Requirements: Your initial submission may be in any format with these requirements: use 8.5 x 11 inch paper, at least 1 inch margins, at least 10 point font, not to exceed 10 pages (including figures/tables/captions and not including references). References may exceed the 10 pages. You might consider using the ACM sigconf template (can be obtained at: ACM template). You will submit a PDF of your manuscript through EasyChair: https://easychair.org/my/conference?conf=cnbmac2022.

Submissions from ACM-BCB Main Conference

We welcome submissions of original research articles that were not accepted to the ACM-BCB 2022 main conference. Notifications from ACM-BCB should come out on June 17; we will accept late submissions if this deadline shifts.

Acceptance Details

Upon acceptance, authors are invited to give an ORAL PRESENTATION on the paper during the CNB-MAC workshop on August 7th. Authors will be asked to post a preprint of their accepted paper by August 1 so the URL can be included in the workshop program.

JCB Submission (due August 25th)

Authors of accepted papers are invited to submit revised manuscripts to the Journal of Computational Biology for consideration in a special issue on computational network biology. If the papers are accepted to the special issue, authors are responsible for the JCB manuscript fees. The fees, also listed on the journal’s website, appear below:

  • Page Charges – $90 $67.50 USD per page in final, published version (reflects a 25% per-page discount for publishing in the special issue)
  • Color Production optional – $750 USD (no charge to produce figures in greyscale)
  • Open Access optional APC (Article Processing Charge) $3,200 USD

By August 25th, authors of accepted papers will submit your revised manuscript, along with a point-by-point response to reviewers, to JCB’s ScholarOne paper management system, following JCB’s Manuscript Submission Guidelines. As described on their website, “The Journal welcomes initial submissions as full-text PDF files. Prior to acceptance (if the manuscript is to be accepted), you will receive a notification to submit the manuscript formatted as per Journal requirements.” There is no page limit for revised manuscripts (but note the charges per page above).

The organizing committee will be handling the special issue, and they will consider your comments and may send your paper to the prior reviewers or to new reviewers. Note that your paper may require major revisions and ultimately the journal editors will make the final decision. 

Please note that final acceptance and publication in CNB-MAC 2022 partner journals is contingent on: (i) successfully addressing the reviewers’ concerns and suggestions and (ii) presentation of the paper at the CNB-MAC 2022 workshop.

Poster Abstracts

We invite authors to submit poster abstracts to present their latest research findings at the workshop.

Format Requirements: Please prepare a one page abstract that includes the poster title, authors and affiliations, and a brief description of the research findings. The full poster is not needed at the time of submission. You will submit a PDF of the one-page abstract through EasyChair: https://easychair.org/my/conference?conf=cnbmac2022.

Upon acceptance, authors will prepare a poster that will be presented at the CNB-MAC POSTER SESSION on August 7th.

Highlights

We invite the submission of abstracts of papers that have been published in a peer-reviewed journal after January 1, 2021 or papers that are “in press” at the time of submission.

Format requirements: Please prepare a one page abstract that includes the paper title, authors and affiliations, paper abstract, its full citation information, and a link to the full paper on the journal website. You will submit a PDF of the one-page abstract through EasyChaiR: https://easychair.org/my/conference?conf=cnbmac2022.

Upon acceptance, authors are invited to give an ORAL PRESENTATION on the paper during the CNB-MAC workshop on August 7th.
